Why I Started RentList 919
I'm DeShawn — NC licensed real estate broker, Triangle landlord since the mid-2000s, and the founder of RentList 919.
For more than a decade, I screened hundreds of tenant applications — both as a landlord myself and on behalf of other property owners. I watched great renters get rejected over fixable mistakes. I watched scammers run circles around stressed-out families. I watched application fees pile up on people who never had a real shot at the unit.
